No, the cup makes a good base to set on. This helps them sit up and keeps them from popping fast from holding them.
Unsure. We have had some last as long as 2 months. They still look like the creation just smaller. We have seen a few a year later still looking like the original creation as rubber bands. We have had some that started to deflate hours after creation.
